We’ve been super busy adding to our lineup of courses at IR. Classes include both live, online instruction, as well as in-person courses. Now, with our online registration and payment system, signing up is easier than ever. A few of these courses are going to be very popular, so don’t miss out.
Helping you grow your business is important to us. We want to find ways for you to access the equipment you need to get the job done. Equipment that will help you to fulfill your clients’ needs, while also giving you the ability to expand into other projects too. We understand that you may not always be in the position to make that happen on your own. That’s why IR Supplies and Services now offers in-house financing.
We are pleased to introduce a new course that we have added to our lineup for training at IR: the Industrial Radiography RSO Course.
The course, which will be held at our Edmonton location on April 27 to 30, 2020, is for everyone who is or would like to become a radiation safety officer (RSO) for industrial radiography licenses issued by the Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission (CNSC). Participants will receive in-depth and
comprehensive instruction on the practical and technical elements required to run an effective radiation protection program.
Not all news is good news, including the news we received last week that prices on QSA Global products are going up. We understand that the decision to make these changes is not made lightly, unfortunately the present-day environment of doing business makes it necessary.
At IR we always place the needs of our clients above all else. We do that by providing exceptional NDT products and services from industry leaders and innovators. We support those products and services in every possible way. That is our mission. We live it every day.
Earlier this year we announced the opening of our Burlington location. To celebrate the expansion we shared a special offer with our source customers for all of 2019. We call it our More than a Source promotion. Here’s how it goes: when you purchase a new Ir-192, Se-75 or Co-60 source from IR, you get a free maintenance on a Sentinel 1075 SCARpro, 880 Series or Sentry Cobalt 330/110 at the time of source swap. That’s right, free!
Last week we announced on our Facebook and LinkedIn pages, news of our support for a special Christmas charity. Just in case you missed it, we are now sharing the message directly with you.
We will once again be making a contribution to Santas Anonymous, and we hope you will join us. IR will match any gift you bring into our Edmonton location between now and December 6, with a second gift. Toys must be new and not yet wrapped. There is a special need for toys suited to children ages 9-10, who often get overlooked. Ideas for toys suited to children of all age groups can be found here.
Carestream will be launching an improved version of the HPX-DR detector system, with a non-glass panel. The result: eliminate the possibility of glass breakage that will leave your panel unrepairable. The bonus? Pricing from the previous version hasn’t changed. Deliveries are expected by year end 2019, but we are taking preorders now.
Edmonton, Alberta—After months in the making, IR Supplies and Services is unveiling the latest solution in NDT Labs: the Freedom lab. The Freedom lab takes all the best features from existing labs in the market today, adds innovations developed with client feedback, and combines it all using hard-working materials. The results are a lab with a design that not only looks great, but has a layout with a work-flow for real-life, in the field, work.
Over the years my blogs on macroeconomics have foreshadowed the show down between the US and China. Canada is now collateral damage and I don’t think anyone could see this coming. The conflict between our two countries is more about China projecting its image of power to its people, but what has come to the surface is the difference in the rule of law, of our nations.
Canada has detained Meng Wanzhou, CFO and daughter of the founder of Huawei, on a New York court ruling that invoked Canada’s extradition treaty with the US. China has retaliated in response by simply capturing Canadians and using laws to express their displeasure. This is something that Hong Kong has been deathly afraid of and are now responding to with estimates of hundreds of thousands, or as high as over a million, people protesting in the streets.
