CEDO Course

The CEDO course is based on the vocational training requirements listed in CSA PCP-09 and provides the student with 40-hours of instruction in radiation safety, regulatory requirements, and theory and practice of gamma radiography.  The course is designed to prepare students for work as an industrial radiographer and successfully pass the CEDO examination administered by the Natural Resources Canada.

CEDO Exam Preparation Course

The CEDO exam preparation course prepares students for the Certified Exposure Device Operator (CEDO) exam that is administered by Natural Resources Canada.  The course will consist of live training that is either in-person or virtual.  Please see below to confirm the format for the upcoming session.

CEDO Refresher Course

This one-day CEDO refresher course at IR, with instruction by David Paynter, is intended for exposure device operators looking to refresh their knowledge and meet their requirements for continuing education. CEDOs looking to renew their certification must have a minimum of 40 hours of continuing education over a five-year period with a minimum of 5 hours per year.

Industrial Radiography RSO Course

The RSO course with instruction by David Paynter, is for everyone who is, or would like to become, a radiation safety officer (RSO) for industrial radiography licenses issued by the Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission (CNSC). Participants will receive in-depth and comprehensive instruction on the practical and technical elements required to run an effective radiation protection program. Industrial Radiography RSO Refresher Training

This one-day, online radiation safety officer (RSO) refresher training with instruction by David Paynter, is designed for RSOs working in gamma industrial radiography who are looking to refresh their skills and knowledge. Stay up to date on recent changes to CNSC regulations, expectations, and what to expect from the CNSC in the next few years. Participants will receive a certificate of completion which can be used to satisfy RSO refresher training requirements. Inspection and Maintenance

With in-person instruction by QSA Global, a worldwide authority on working with x-ray, gamma radiation sources and NDT products, this course covers design, approvals, QA requirements, daily inspections, formal inspections and maintenance of isotope radiography systems. You will be trained to maintain and inspect gamma ray projectors and accessories that are essential per 10 CFR 34 and 10 CFR 71 QA requirements.  Hours: 16

Source Retrieval Course

Also instructed in-person by QSA Global, whose educational staff are top-line professionals with extensive experience in the NDT field, this course will provide instruction on how to conduct or supervise the safe recovery of isotope radiography sources involved in accident or malfunction situations. The course covers cause and prevention, planning and assessment, exposure determination, shielding and operational guidelines. This includes a half day lab session and a session for reporting and root cause determination.  Hours: 24

Digital Radiography Course

This 40-hour computed and digital radiography course was designed to transition conventional film technicians into the advanced CR/DR techniques.  This course was designed around Carestream NDT CR/DR systems and is the starting point for computed and digital radiographic training.  This training course is meant to meet and exceed the requirements as outlined in ANSI/ASNT CP-105-2016.

LIBS Training

The SciAps Z is a handheld analyzer, which uses laser induced breakdown spectroscopy (LIBS), a type of atomic optical emission spectroscopy (OES). This full-day course will cover basic principles, applications, theoretical, and practical components needed to safely operate and maintain SciAps Z units.  The course combines a classroom presentation with hands-on training, as well as ongoing phone support.

This course will cover an introduction to basic principles and applications of XRF through a presentation and hands on training. The course will cover both the theoretical and practical components necessary to meet the requirements of NRCan NDTC XRF operator program based on Health Canada Safety Code 32 and ISO 20807.
