Christmas is for Charity

Help Us to Make Giving Matter

The cold weather is upon us, and the season’s snowfall has begun.  That can only mean one thing: it’s time to think about Christmas giving.

Once again IR is delighted to announce that we are participating in Christmas charities that we believe really make a difference.  Our focus continues to be on the youngsters in our communities.  Our hope is to make a difference to children who otherwise might do without.

Santas Anonymous

We’ve been working with the 630 CHED Santas Anonymous in Edmonton for a few years now.  The mission of this charity is simple: to see every child receive a new toy at Christmas. Since being founded in 1955, that mission has stayed the same.  Relying on thousands of volunteers and donors, Santas Anonymous now collects, sorts, packages, and delivers toys to over 20,000 children every year.

Since we first made this a charity of choice, we were an unofficial drop off location.  Because we continue to make a commitment to them year-after-year, we became an official drop off location in 2021.  That means we now accept donations from individuals outside of our circle of friends.  The results have been fantastic.

Each year we are reminded that there are some age groups that are overlooked.  We are provided with guidance on what toys are needed the most.  Santas Anonymous is often short on items for infants to 2-year-olds and for 9 to 12-year-olds.  For inspiration on what you could give, visit the Santas Anonymous website where you will find a list of ideas.  Remember, all gifts must be new and unopened.

Toy Mountain

Toy Mountain is a new charity to us this year.  It is a collaboration between CTV news and the Salvation Army to bring toys to the less fortunate during the holiday season. The Toy Mountain campaign encourages participation from businesses such as ours, as we become partners by collecting toys. This effort supports not only children but also those who are often forgotten about, such as tweens and teens.  Donations provide each with a gift they can enjoy and appreciate in a season that is often lonely and foreshadowed by personal or family circumstances. The efforts for this charity impact those living within the greater Toronto area, spanning across multiple municipalities including Burlington, to spread the holiday cheer.

IR Burlington will be a collection location.  We encourage you to drop by to visit us, and we will personally deliver your contribution to the distribution location.  You can find out more about Toy Mountain at their website.

In it Together

For every contribution we receive from clients, friends and family at either our Edmonton or Burlington locations, we will match it.  Our goal is to fill our cars on delivery day and make a festive run to the charity drop off location…just in time for Santa to get organized for the big day.  In fact, we are so excited about the 2022 contribution that we’ve already started shopping.  We’re that confident that this is going to be an incredible success.  You’ve always come through for us in the past!  Let’s outdo ourselves this year.

Cash for Charity

Don’t think you can make it into either one of our Edmonton or Burlington locations but want to contribute to the cause?  We will take cash donations too.  Just give us a call at either 780-452-4761 or 905-335-1377 and we can get your payment from you.  We will manage the distribution from there.  No contribution is too small.

Donation Cut-off

Like anyone, Santa needs time to get organized so that the kids can get their toys in time for Christmas.  For that reason, we will be accepting donations until December 14.  That means you will need to get your shopping done early.  Let’s be sure to get organized for this great cause.
